So, I was sitting there one day, scrolling through other blogs, and I noticed something weird. Some titles were way too long, like a whole paragraph, and others were super short, like just two words. That got me thinking—how do you keep it right in the middle?

I figured, why not try making every blog title between 18 and 28 characters? Seemed simple enough, but man, it turned into a mess real quick. I started with a blank screen on my computer, just staring at it. First, I thought about my topic: maybe something like how to save money on groceries.
So, I typed out, “Easy Ways to Cut Grocery Costs.” Counted the characters—only 23. That was fine, but what about adding some punch? I rewrote it as “Super Simple Tips for Saving Big on Grocery Shopping Every Week.” Whoa, that shot up to 53. Way over the limit. Felt like I wrote a novel for a title.
I got frustrated, scratched my head, and decided to trim it down. Removed words one by one. “Tips for Saving on Groceries”—but that was 29 characters. Still too long. Tried again: “Save Money on Groceries.” Down to 23, and I thought it worked. But then, it felt too basic, like it wasn’t grabbing attention.
So, I changed gears. Thought of a different angle: “Grocery Hacks to Save Cash Daily.” Counted it—26 characters. That clicked! I wrote it out and saved it for real. Did this for a few more topics, like fitness routines. Went from “How to Start Working Out at Home” (35 characters) to “Home Workouts for Beginners” (26 characters) after some back-and-forth. Took a couple of tries each time.
After doing this practice run, I realized something big. Shorter titles might be snappy, but they can skip details. Longer ones drag on and bore readers. Hitting that sweet spot makes titles sharp and to the point. Now, I always do a quick character count before posting—saves me headaches and keeps things tidy.
