Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post based on your instructions.

07 GSXR600: Is This Bike Still Good in 2024?

Alright guys, today’s share is about my experience with the 07 GSXR600. Nothing crazy, just some stuff I’ve been tinkering with and thought I’d share.

So, first things first, I picked up this GSXR a while back. It wasn’t exactly in showroom condition, let’s just say it had “character”. The first thing I did was a complete tear down. I mean everything. Fairings off, tank off, you name it. Wanted to see what I was really working with.

Next up, the engine. I didn’t pull the whole thing, thankfully. Just did a valve adjustment. It was running a little rough, and I suspected the valves were out of spec. Used a feeler gauge, checked clearances, and adjusted accordingly. It’s tedious work, but totally worth it when you fire it up and it purrs like a kitten… well, a kitten with a lot of horsepower.

Then came the brakes. The old lines were looking crusty, so I replaced them with some stainless steel braided lines. Flushed the brake fluid too. Always gotta have good brakes, especially on a bike like this. Bled the system until I got a nice firm lever feel. Safety first, always.

After that, I tackled the suspension. The forks were leaking a bit, so I rebuilt them with new seals and fresh oil. Also adjusted the rear shock to match my weight and riding style. Big difference in handling after that. Feels much more planted in the corners.

Of course, I had to do something about the cosmetics. The fairings were scratched and faded, so I gave them a fresh coat of paint. Nothing fancy, just a solid color to clean it up. Also replaced the grips and bar ends. Makes a big difference in the overall look and feel.

Finally, I did a full service: new air filter, new spark plugs, oil change, the whole shebang. Basically just giving it a good once-over to make sure everything is running smoothly.

  • Tear down
  • Valve adjustment
  • Brake lines replacement
  • Fork rebuild
  • Cosmetics
  • Full service

After all that, the bike is running like a champ. It’s not perfect, but it’s a hell of a lot better than it was. Plus, I learned a ton in the process. Now I’m just enjoying the ride!
