Alright, so today I wanted to mess around with something a little different – recreating that iconic Ronaldo Nazario 2002 World Cup haircut. You know, the one with the triangle patch on top? Yeah, that one. I’ve always thought it was a bold, crazy look, and I figured, why not give it a shot?
First, I had to gather my tools. I’m no barber, so this was basically just grabbing my clippers, some scissors, and a comb. I also pulled up a bunch of pictures of Ronaldo from that World Cup, just to make sure I had a good visual.
The Prep Work
I started by buzzing my hair down pretty short all over. I think I used a number 2 guard on the clippers. The key was to get it even, because that triangle patch needs a good, clean base.
- Wash and dry hair.
- Buzz with clippers (number 2 guard).
- Check for evenness.
Creating the “Triangle”
This was definitely the trickiest part. I used the comb to kind of section off a triangle at the front of my head, right above my forehead. It wasn’t perfect, I’m not gonna lie. I was mostly eyeballing it, and it took a few tries to get the shape somewhat resembling Ronaldo’s.
Once I had the triangle outlined (as best as I could), I very, very carefully started trimming the hair around it. I’d trim a little, then step back and look in the mirror, then trim a little more. It was a slow process, and I was pretty nervous about messing it up.
I definitely recommend taking your time with this part. It’s way easier to trim more hair off than to put it back on! Seriously. Lots of small snips, and check your progress constantly.

The Final Result (and Regrets?)
Okay, so after a good hour of buzzing, trimming, and sweating nervously, I finally had something that…well, it kinda looked like Ronaldo’s haircut. It wasn’t perfect, by any means. The triangle was a bit wonky, and the edges weren’t super clean. But, you know what? I did it. I actually created that ridiculous, legendary hairstyle.
Do I regret it? Maybe a little. It’s definitely a conversation starter. But hey, it’s just hair, right? It’ll grow back. And for a brief, shining moment, I felt like a World Cup champion. At least, in my own, slightly goofy way.
It was fun.
