Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with the 2017 Ninja 250:

So, I picked up a used 2017 Ninja 250 a while back. It wasn’t my first bike, but I wanted something smaller and more manageable for city riding. I’d heard good things about the Ninja 250, and this one popped up at a decent price, so I jumped on it.

First Impressions

When I first got it, I gotta say, I was pretty impressed. It looked way sportier than I expected for a 250. The previous owner had kept it in pretty good shape, too – just a few minor scratches here and there. Nothing a little touch-up paint couldn’t fix.

Getting it Ride-Ready

  • First thing I did was give it a thorough check-over. Checked the oil, coolant, brake fluid – all the basics. Everything looked good there.
  • The tires were a little worn, so I swapped those out for some new ones. I went with some stickier tires, since I planned on doing some spirited riding.
  • Then I changed the oil and filter. Better safe than sorry, right? I always like to start fresh with fluids when I get a used vehicle.
  • Adjusted the chain. It was a little loose, so I tightened it up to the proper spec. Easy peasy.
  • Finally gave it a good wash and wax.. Gotta keep it looking good!

Taking it for a Spin

Once I had it all prepped, I was itching to take it out. And man, was it fun! The 250 is so light and nimble. It’s a blast to flick around corners. The engine is surprisingly peppy for a 250, too. It’s not gonna win any drag races, but it’s got enough power to keep things interesting.

I took it on some twisty roads, and it handled like a dream. I was really able to lean it over and feel confident in the corners. I even took it on a longer ride – about 100 miles – and it was surprisingly comfortable. The seat is a little firm, but it wasn’t unbearable.

My Final Thoughts.

Overall, I’m super happy with the 2017 Ninja 250. It’s a great little bike for zipping around town, and it’s even capable of some longer rides. It’s easy to work on, fun to ride, and it looks great. What more could you ask for?
