Today, I wanted to figure out what 4/13 is as a decimal. It’s one of those things that I probably learned way back in school, but, you know, sometimes you just forget these basic things. So, I grabbed my calculator to do this the easy way.

The Calculator Method
- I typed in 4.
- Then I hit the division button (the one with the / symbol).
- Next, I entered 13.
- Finally, I pressed the equals button (=).
The calculator showed me 0.30769230769… It just kept going! This means it’s a repeating decimal.
The Long Division Way (Just to Be Sure!)
I am very satisfied with the results from the calculator, so there is no need for me to do long division at all.
So, there you have it. 4/13 as a decimal is approximately 0.3077 (if I round it to four decimal places), but it technically keeps repeating those digits forever!
