Alright, so I’ve been trying to get this “honey bee tee times” thing off the ground, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I had this idea, you know, to combine my love for bees with my, uh, less-than-stellar golf game.

Honey Bee Tee Times: How to Book & What to Expect

The Brainstorm

It all started with a simple thought: What if I could somehow incorporate bees into golfing? Sounds crazy, right? But I was determined to make it happen. First, I brainstormed a bunch of ideas. I thought about bee-themed golf balls, maybe some honey-infused snacks at the course, you name it.

The Research Phase

Next up, I had to do some digging. I needed to figure out if this was even feasible. I mean, you can’t just throw a beehive on a golf course and call it a day. So I started researching local beekeepers, golf courses, and everything in between.

  • I contacted a few beekeepers to see if they’d be interested in partnering up.
  • I called some golf courses and was laughed at more often than not.

Hitting a Wall (and Some Golf Balls)

To be honest, the initial response wasn’t great. People looked at me like I was crazy. Lots of “no’s” and confused looks. I started to doubt myself. I spent a few afternoons at the driving range, just whacking balls and feeling frustrated.

But it was frustrating because I couldn’t find good matches.

The Breakthrough

Then, I stumbled upon this small, family-owned golf course that was all about sustainability. They loved the idea! They even had a beekeeper who was already maintaining hives near the course. It was like a sign from the universe.

Putting It All Together

I got down to work!I met the staff and the beekeeper.

  • We discussed safety precautions, of course.
  • We planned out where to place the hives (far away from the tee boxes, obviously).
  • We even designed some cute bee-themed signage for the course.

The Launch (and a Few Stings)

Finally, we launched “honey bee tee times” last weekend. It was a small event, just a few friends and some local bee enthusiasts. And you know what? It was a blast! People loved the honey tasting, the bee-themed merchandise, and even the occasional (safe) glimpse of the bees doing their thing. Sure, there were a few minor stings (mostly metaphorical), but overall, it was a success.

So, that’s the story of how I turned a crazy idea into a somewhat-functioning reality. It’s still a work in progress, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
