Okay, so I saw this crazy thing online about Evra’s fan kick and I just had to try and recreate it, you know, for the laughs. I mean, who does that? A flying kick to a fan’s face? Wild!
Getting Started
First, I cleared out some space in my backyard. No way I was doing this inside and breaking something. Needed room to maneuver, you know?
The “Fan”
- I grabbed an old cardboard box – had to improvise, I didn’t have any willing volunteers.
- I propped the box up against the fence, making it roughly “fan” height.
- I even drew the fans face on that box,hahaha.
The Kick
This is where things got interesting, and let me tell you, I am NOT a martial artist.
- I took a few running steps.I have no idea what I am doing.
- I watched some slow-motion of evra on website.
- I tried to, like, jump and kick sideways at the same time.
- I yelled something in my heart,”Evraaaaaaa”.
The Results
It was… clumsy, haha! I am sure that i can’t even make one-tenth power of evra’s.
I did land a kick, though! Sent that cardboard “fan” flying. I’m pretty sure Evra’s technique was a little more refined, though. But hey, I gave it a shot, and that’s what counts, right? And also I can feel a little bit pain in my ankle, I think I will not try this any more.
