Alright, so I decided to try this “nail horse” thing. I’d seen some pictures online, and it looked kinda cool, plus I had a bunch of old horseshoes and nails lying around. Figured it’d be a fun little project.

Getting Started
First, I gathered my materials. I already had a pile of horseshoes, some rusty, some not so much. Then I grabbed a box of those big, thick nails – the kind you use for, well, I don’t know what you actually use them for, but they were sturdy.
The Process
- I picked out a horseshoe that looked like a good size for the body.
- Then, I started hammering nails into the holes. It was tougher than I thought! Those horseshoes are hard.
- I bent some of the nails to make them look more like legs, trying to get them to stand up straight. It was a lot of trial and error.
- I used another horseshoe, cut in half with a saw, for the head and tail, and attached two nails to each of them.
Finishing Up
It took a while, and my hands were pretty sore, but eventually, I had something that vaguely resembled a horse. It wasn’t perfect, far from it, but it was… something. It’s kinda rustic and clumsy, but I guess that gives it character, right? It’s standing up on its own, which is more than I expected, honestly.
Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a good way to use up some scrap materials, and it was kinda satisfying to bang on something for a few hours. If you’ve got some old horseshoes and nails, give it a shot. Just don’t expect to create a masterpiece.
