Okay, so let me tell you about getting my Y Mega Charizard sorted. It was a bit of a thing, really.

Getting Started
First off, I knew I wanted a good Mega Charizard Y. I mean, look at it, it just looks cool, right? More dragon-like, spikier. Way cooler than the X version in my book, though X is alright too. But Y was the goal.
So, I checked around, figured out when it was available, you know, in raids or whatever event was running. Can’t remember exactly when, things blur together. But the point is, it was there for the taking.
The Grind
Right, so the first step was actually getting a decent Charizard. You can’t just mega evolve any old rubbish one. Well, you can, but what’s the point? I wanted one with good stats. So that meant raiding. A lot.
- Joined a bunch of raids. Used my remote passes sometimes when I couldn’t get out.
- Battled those things again and again. My rock-type pokémon got a real workout.
- Caught a few Charizards after the raids. Checked their stats. Most were just okay, you know? Two stars, maybe a low three star. Bit disappointing.
It took a while. Seriously, days of trying. Sometimes you’d join a raid and people would bail last second, wasting a pass. Annoying stuff.
Getting the Right One and the Energy
Finally, after maybe the tenth raid, I dunno, I lost count, I caught one. Checked it. Boom! A really good three-star one. Not perfect, not a ‘hundo’ as they say, but pretty darn close. Good enough for me, definitely.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Oh no. Then you need the Mega Energy. And you only get that from doing more raids, or sometimes walking with a Charizard buddy after you’ve mega evolved one once. So, back to raiding I went, focusing on getting that energy piled up.
It felt like such a chore sometimes, just doing the same battle over and over for that energy. But I kept thinking about that final mega evolution.
The Final Step
Once I had enough energy stacked up, it was simple. Found my good Charizard in my collection. Hit the button. Selected Mega Y.
And there it was. My own Y Mega Charizard on the screen. Looked awesome. All that effort, finally paid off. Took it into a few battles right away just to see it in action. Totally worth it. It’s strong, looks cool. Job done.
So yeah, that’s the story. A bit of a grind, some luck needed, but got there in the end. Pretty happy with it.
