Right then, so yesterday I completely missed the Ireland vs Scotland match live. Typical, isn’t it? Life happened. Woke up thinking, “Gotta see that replay!” but had zero clue where to even start looking. Kicking myself for not recording it.

The Initial Headache
First thing I did was grab my phone while scrambling eggs. Opened the usual sports apps. Checked a few big ones. Nothing. Kept showing me highlights or wanting me to sign up for expensive nonsense subscriptions. Seriously, pay a fortune monthly just to watch one replay? Get stuffed.
Felt proper annoyed. Tried just googling “ire sco replay”. Huge mistake. Pages and pages of utter garbage popped up:
- Loads of sites shouting “CLICK HERE NOW!” – screaming sketchy ads everywhere.
- Links leading to broken pages or stuff asking for my credit card.
- A few forums full of people also complaining, asking the same question as me.
Total waste of time, felt like banging my head against the wall.
Digging Deeper & Hitting Walls
Okay, took a breath. Remembered the official broadcaster might have it. Went straight to the rugby governing body’s site – you know, the one everyone actually watches it through? Found the match page easy enough. Saw the replay button. Phew! Clicked it…
BAM. Login screen. Needed an active subscription. Subscription I don’t have and wasn’t planning on getting for one bloomin’ match. Bloody ridiculous. Felt proper locked out.

Stumbling Onto Something
Back to searching, feeling grumpy. Stumbled across some smaller sports news sites chatting about the match. Buried deep in one article, practically a throwaway line, it mentioned that sometimes national broadcaster sites put full replays up… sometimes… if you’re lucky.
Seemed vague, but better than nothing. Had a bit of hope again.
Navigating the Maze
Found the national sports broadcaster sites – tricky when you need different ones! Had to figure out the specific domains for Ireland and Scotland sports sections. Navigation was clunky, honestly. Lots of clicking through menus:
- Started on the general news part.
- Clicked through “Sport” (obviously).
- Scrolled past tons of football rubbish and golf highlights.
- Finally landed on rugby sections.
Took ages. Felt like wandering through a maze blindfolded. Almost gave up several times.
The Payoff (Sort Of)
Lo and behold, after sifting through the latest news posts… there it was! Buried under a generic title like “Six Nations Highlights”. On one of the sites, it actually had the full replay video tucked away near the bottom of the article page. Not advertised well at all. Needed a strong internet signal as it was just embedded, sometimes it buffered like mad. But… it played! Free! No login! Pure gold. Watched the whole thing, even made a brew mid-way.

Why’s It This Hard?
Honestly, what a kerfuffle though. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? For such a massive international match, finding a replay legally without paying extra should be straightforward. Instead, it feels like a treasure hunt:
- Broadcasters hide replays behind paywalls or bury them deep.
- Search engines are useless, filled with scams.
- Official sites aren’t clear about free options.
It shouldn’t feel like cracking a secret code just to watch a game you missed! Ended up working, sure, but it took far longer and was far more annoying than it ever needed to be. Rant over.
