Starting My Pete Wentz Deep Dive
Woke up today thinking I should finally explore all Pete Wentz’s music stuff beyond just Fall Out Boy. Grabbed my coffee and opened my laptop before breakfast.

Old School Hunting
First I googled “pete wentz bands before fall out boy”. Found out he had this super early hardcore punk band called Arma Angelus. Listened to a track called “Amphetamine” – crazy different! All screaming and super fast. Felt like getting punched in the ears but cool to hear where he started.
Side Project Digging
Then remembered he had other side projects:
- Black Cards: Found this weird electro-pop song “Dominos”. Sounds like disco meets pop-punk. Weird but catchy.
- Solo stuff: Dude released an album under his own name? “When Pete Wentz Goes To Heaven” has this sadboi acoustic vibe. Couldn’t even finish one song honestly.
Kept clicking through YouTube suggestions like a zombie for like 40 minutes straight.
New Stuff Chase
Checked his Twitter to see if he dropped anything new. Saw random posts about bass guitars and pizza. Then scrolled Spotify – found a recent collab track with some band I never heard of. Synthy pop nonsense. Closed after first chorus.
Tried his bandmate’s solo projects too. Patrick’s stuff was too Broadway for me, Joe’s was… confusing electronic noise.

The Verdict
After three hours total I realized:
- His best work is still in Fall Out Boy’s old albums
- The punk stuff actually holds up surprisingly well
- All the side projects feel like experiments gone wrong
My ears feel tired now. Glad I did it though – finally understand why everyone says just stick with the Take This stuff. Made leftover pizza while listening to “Grand Theft Autumn” to cleanse my ears. Perfect Thursday morning if you ask me.
