I had free time today, and I just wanted to share something about this dude, Hedo Trkoğlu. I saw some news about him being an executive guy now, but man, I remember him from when he was playing. What a player!

I started digging into his past games. This guy, 6’10”, all legs and arms, was known for making plays and nailing those three-pointers. I found some old highlights, watched him, and yeah, he was something else.
- I read somewhere that he played his best basketball under Stan Van Gundy. Made sense, they really let him use his skills there. They called him a point forward. I don’t really know this concept, but I guess he just liked to bring the ball up and make plays.
- Then I found out that he was named to some rookie team way back in 2000. Averaged like 5 points a game. Everyone starts somewhere, right?
- I even saw some German words mixed in there, talking about his eighth NBA season. “Trkoğlu, der seine achte NBA-Saison spielte.” That’s cool, international man!
I recalled watching one of his games in Dallas. It was a big game, everyone was excited. Hedo had the ball, dribbling, passing. He was like a magician with the basketball, making those bounce passes that only he could do. I looked him up online, and it’s real that he was known as a great passer. His team won that night, too.
So I just spent a few hours today remembering Hedo Trkoğlu. It was fun. He wasn’t the biggest star or anything, but he was a solid player. And now he’s an executive. Good for him.
Watching those old games and reading about him took me back. Basketball was different back then. I really enjoyed my time searching for him. And it’s interesting to see the information about him online now. Maybe I’ll find some more time later to check out more old-school players. It’s a good way to relax.
