Okay, so, about that 3-point contest with Damian Lillard… Man, what a ride!

And I heard that he also won a gold medal for the U.S. Olympic team in the 2020 Summer Olympics, how cool is that?
Then came the actual contest. I decided to try and simulate it myself. It was fun, but also super tough! I marked out the spots on my driveway where he’d be shooting from and started practicing.

After days of practice, I tried a full run-through. I set a timer and went for it, just like in the real contest. It was intense! My heart was pounding, and my shots were all over the place at first. But I kept at it. I tried to channel my inner Lillard.
By the end of it, I was exhausted but stoked. I didn’t hit every shot, not even close, but I got a taste of what it takes to compete at that level. It’s way harder than it looks on TV.

He totally deserved to win that 2024 Starry 3-Pt Contest, and I’ve got a whole new level of respect for him. I saw news said that Lillard defeated Atlanta’s Trae Young in the final round of Saturday’s Starry 3-Point Contest. It’s so cool.
This whole experience was a blast. I got to learn about an amazing athlete, push myself physically, and have a ton of fun in the process. I might not be an NBA star, but for a few days, I got to walk in their shoes, or at least, shoot from their spots!
