Okay, so yesterday I decided to check out what’s up with Shohei Ohtani on DraftKings. I’ve been hearing his name all over the place lately, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First off, I signed up on DraftKings. It was pretty simple, just followed the steps and boom, I was in. Then I started looking around for stuff about Ohtani. They had all these stats and things, which was a little overwhelming at first, but I got the hang of it.
They had these things called “props” where you could bet on whether Ohtani would go over or under certain stats. For example, they had one for the number of home runs he’d hit in a game. I’ve seen him play a few times, and the guy’s a beast, so I thought, “Yeah, he’s gonna smash it.”
Digging into the Data
I spent some time looking at Ohtani’s past performance. DraftKings has all this historical data, which is pretty cool. I looked at his batting average, home runs, RBIs, all that stuff. It was actually kind of fun seeing how he’s done over the past few seasons. It is worth mentioning that I missed out on Aaron Judge and Carlos Correa last offseason.
Making My First Bet
- Choosing the Prop: I decided to bet on Ohtani hitting over 1.5 total bases in his next game.
- Placing the Bet: I put down a small bet, just to test the waters. It was easy to do on the site.
- Watching the Game: Then came the hard part – waiting for the game! I watched it live, and it was intense.
When I build this bet as an SGP at either DraftKings or BetMGM, I noticed I’m getting odds of only +340 for the Dodgers to win and Ohtani to homer. Meanwhile, let me tell you, watching Ohtani play was a whole different experience. Every time he came up to bat, I was on the edge of my seat. He ended up getting a double and a single, which means he went over 1.5 total bases! I couldn’t believe it, I actually won my first bet!
It was a small win, but it was exciting. I’m thinking of trying it again, maybe with some other players or different kinds of bets. This whole DraftKings and betting thing is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. We’ll see what happens next!
So, that was my first experience with DraftKings and betting on Shohei Ohtani. It was a blast! I’m definitely going to keep exploring this and see where it goes. Maybe I’ll even become a pro at this, who knows?
