Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of sports car racing and check out the qualifying session for Petit Le Mans. I’ve always been fascinated by endurance racing, and this seemed like a good place to start.
First, I fired up my computer and looked for a way to watch or follow along. Find a offical website,I got lucky and found IMSA offical TV. The website didn’t have much information so I tried Youtube.
I spent a good while just watching and figuring things out. There are different car classes, like GTP, LMP2, LMP3, GTD Pro, and GTD. It’s kind of like a multi-class race, so you’ve got different battles happening at the same time. Pretty wild, I found a session in youtube, and I spend lot of time to figure out.
The qualifying itself was broken down into segments for each class.I tried to keep track of who was setting fast laps, but honestly, it got confusing pretty fast. I watched the times tumble and tried to understand the strategies teams were using with tire choices and stuff.
