Alright, so I’ve been messing around with Sims 4 again lately, and you know how it goes – sometimes you just want to, uh, enhance your Sim’s life a little. Or a lot. That’s where lifestyle cheats come in handy, and let me tell you, I’ve been down the rabbit hole.

First, I opened the cheat console. You know the drill: Ctrl + Shift + C on PC (I think it’s Command + Shift + C on Mac, but don’t quote me). That little white box popped up at the top of the screen, ready for some magic.
Getting Started with Traits
The whole point was to tweak those pesky lifestyles, right? I figured, “Why not start with traits?”. Those define your sim! So I typed in “testingcheats true”. This is important, don’t miss this, This is like the master key that unlocks everything else. Hit enter, and then the game basically said, “Okay, you’re the boss now.”
Then I was like “I want that lifestyle, let’s go!”
- So I typed in *_trait [TraitNameHere].
- Example: *_trait trait_adventurous
Boom! My Sim suddenly had a new trait, and I didn’t have to wait for them. I’m impatient, okay?

Removing Traits (Because We All Make Mistakes)
Of course, I got a little too enthusiastic. Gave my Sim, like, five conflicting traits. It was a mess. So I had to figure out how to undo my mess. Turns out, it’s pretty similar, just typed in *_trait [TraitNameHere]. For example: *_trait trait_adventurous. Thank goodness for that.
Clearing Everything (The Nuclear Option)
And then there’s the “I messed up EVERYTHING” button. I didn’t need to use this, but I tested it out, just in case. You type in *_traits, and it wipes every single trait your Sim has. Poof. Gone. It’s a bit drastic, but hey, sometimes you need a fresh start.
So yeah, that’s my little cheat adventure. I went from a regular Sim life to a completely customized one in, like, an hour. Just remember to save your game before you go wild, because sometimes those “enhancements” can get a little…out of hand. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
