Okay, so, today I decided to get into this “tenn fans” thing. Honestly, I saw it trending and thought, “Why not?” I’m always up for trying something new, especially if it involves some DIY action. I’ve always been the kind of person who gets into the idea first. So, I started by seeing if I had any of the materials I needed at home.
First thing, I rummaged through my garage. I knew I had some old, broken fans lying around somewhere. I was not even sure I had them, but I needed to be sure. After about, like, an hour of searching and moving stuff, I finally found two of them. They were dusty and one was missing a blade, but I figured I could make it work. I took everything to my workstation in the garage.
The next thing, I had a pretty clear idea of what I was going to do. I didn’t want to go out and buy a bunch of supplies, so I decided to use whatever I could find around the house. Aside from the fans, I grabbed some old wire, some screws, and a piece of plywood that was just leaning against the wall. I also found a can of spray paint – it was a funky bright blue, which I thought would look cool.
Getting My Hands Dirty
I started by taking apart the fans. This was surprisingly easy. Just a few screws and the motor and blades were out. I cleaned them up as best as I could, getting rid of all the dust and cobwebs. For the one with the missing blade, I just broke off another blade on the opposite side to keep it balanced. It looked a little weird, but hey, it’s all about being creative, right?
Then, I took the plywood and laid out the fan motors on it. I played around with the arrangement for a bit until I found something I liked. Once I was happy with the layout, I marked the spots where I needed to drill holes for the screws.
- Drilling the holes was pretty straightforward. I made sure to use a drill bit that was slightly smaller than the screws so they would fit snugly.
- Next, I mounted the fan motors onto the plywood, screwing them in tightly.
With the motors in place, it was time to deal with the wiring. I’m no electrician, but I know the basics. I stripped the ends of the wires and connected them to the motors. I used some electrical tape to secure everything and make sure there were no exposed wires. It wasn’t pretty, but it was functional.
The Finishing Touches
The final step: adding some color! I took my creation outside and sprayed the whole thing with that bright blue paint. I did a couple of coats to make sure it was evenly covered. It definitely gave it a more “finished” look.
After letting the painting dry, I needed it to look good.
I put it there. It looked so good, my neighbors came to see it.
And that’s it! My “tenn fans” project was complete. It might not be the most professional-looking thing, but I built it myself, and that’s what matters. Plus, it actually works! It’s not going to cool down a whole room, but it creates a nice little breeze. I’m pretty proud of myself, honestly. It just goes to show that you can make something cool out of pretty much anything if you put your mind to it.
