So, the other day I was looking at the weather forecast and it was all in Fahrenheit. I’m used to Celsius, so I needed to do a quick conversion. I had to change 34 degrees Fahrenheit to Celsius, and here’s how I did it.

First, I grabbed my phone – always handy for these things. I remembered there’s a formula you gotta use. You take the Fahrenheit number, subtract 32, then you multiply that by 5, and finally, you divide by 9. Sounds more complicated than it is, really.
So, I punched in 34 (that’s the Fahrenheit temperature) and subtracted 32. That gave me 2, easy peasy.
- 34 – 32 = 2
Next, I multiplied that 2 by 5.
- 2 5 = 10
Got 10.

The last step, divide it all by 9.
- 10 / 9 = 1.1111(rounding)
And there you have it, it’s about 1.1 degrees Celsius. Turns out, 34 Fahrenheit isn’t as cold as it sounds!
It’s a pretty simple process once you’ve done it a couple of times. I usually just use an online converter, but it’s good to know how to do it yourself, just in case you’re stuck without internet or something.
