Okay, so I finally decided to check out that Signal Hill golf course everyone’s been talking about. I’ve been meaning to get back into golf, and this seemed like a good, low-pressure way to do it.

First things first, I dusted off my old clubs. Man, they were in rough shape! I spent a good hour just cleaning them up, getting all the dirt and grime off. Then I realized I was completely out of golf balls. So, a quick trip to the sporting goods store was in order.
Getting There
Finding the place was pretty easy, it’s super obvious to spot.
I booked a tee time online the day before, which was super convenient. I hate calling and talking to people, so online booking is always a plus for me. I went for a weekday afternoon, hoping to avoid the weekend crowds.
Hitting the Course
- I started out pretty shaky. My first few swings were…well, let’s just say I’m glad there weren’t many people around. I definitely shanked a couple into the trees.
- But after a few holes, I started to get my groove back. It’s like riding a bike, right? You never really forget. I even managed to get a par on the 5th hole, which felt amazing.
- The course itself was in pretty good condition. The greens were well-maintained, and the fairways were nice and wide, which is good for a rusty golfer like me.
- I walked the course, which was a good workout. I probably should have rented a cart, but hey, I needed the exercise.
Wrapping Up
Overall, it was a great day. I played all the holes, didn’t lose too many balls, and even managed to hit a few decent shots. My score? Let’s just say it wasn’t my best, but it wasn’t my worst either. The important thing is, I had fun, got some fresh air, and got back into the swing of things (pun intended!).
I’ll definitely be going back to Signal Hill. It’s a good, affordable course, and it’s perfect for someone like me who’s just trying to get back into the game. Maybe next time I’ll even try to break 100!
