Okay, so today I tried to recreate the whole “Finn and Rose” dynamic from Star Wars, but, like, in my own way. You know, I wanted to see if I could capture that feeling of, uh, unlikely partnership and adventure, but with stuff I had around the house.

First, I needed a “Finn.” I grabbed this old action figure I had – it wasn’t actually Finn, more like a generic soldier guy, but close enough! For “Rose,” I ended up using this, um, this small wrench I found in my toolbox. I know, I know, it’s a wrench, not a person. But it felt right! Rose is all about fixing things and being practical, and so is a wrench, right?

Setting the Scene

So, I cleared off my kitchen table – that was going to be my “Canto Bight” – you know, the casino planet. I scattered some playing cards and bottle caps around to make it look kinda, well, like a messy casino. I even used a sparkly phone case as that fancy Canto Bight building.

  • The Mission: I decided their mission would be to “rescue” a AAA battery. Because…reasons. I imagined the battery was, like, some super important power source.
  • The Obstacles: I used some books as walls and a stapler as some kind of big, scary security thing they had to get past. A lemon represented that rich guy.

The Action!

I spent like, a good hour moving the action figure and the wrench around the table. I was making “pew pew” noises and everything, like they were dodging laser blasts (which were imaginary, of course). The soldier (Finn!) kept “knocking over” the bottle caps, and the wrench (Rose!) was always “fixing” things that went wrong, like when a book-wall would fall * was actually pretty fun!

The whole ‘rescue’ operation involved a lot of pretending. The soldier climbed over the book-wall, the wrench wedged itself under the stapler-security-thingy, and they finally grabbed the battery-power-source. Success!

It might sound silly, and it kinda was, but it was a fun way to spend an afternoon. And it actually made me think about how those big movie scenes are made, with all the planning and, well, pretending. Plus, now my kitchen table is (mostly) clean!
