Okay, so I’ve been tinkering with my golf gear again, trying to channel my inner Adam Scott. I mean, who wouldn’t want that swing, right? I saw this “Adam Scott WITB” (What’s In The Bag) thing online and figured, why not give it a shot? It’s not like I’m going pro anytime soon, but hey, a guy can dream (and swing).

First thing I did was check out what driver he’s using. Obviously, I don’t have his exact sponsors or custom-made stuff, but I looked for something similar in my own bag (and by “bag,” I mean the dusty old thing in my garage). Found my old driver, gave it a good wipe down – it definitely needed it.

Irons and Wedges Experiment

Next up, the irons. This is where it got a little tricky. I’ve got a mismatched set I’ve collected over the years. Some hand-me-downs, a couple I bought on sale… it’s a real mess. But I tried to arrange them in a way that kinda, sorta resembled what I saw in the pictures of Scott’s bag. Probably not the same lofts or anything, but close enough, right?

  • Checked my 3-iron (still exists, surprisingly!).
  • Made sure that the pitching wedge that isn’t too damaged.
  • Looked at the 5,7,9-irons that look like they are the same brand.

Then came the wedges. Now, I actually pride myself on my short game (it’s the only part of my game I can sometimes be proud of). I’ve got a couple of decent wedges, so I felt pretty good about this part. Polished them up, made them look all shiny and professional.

Putter Time

And finally, the putter. The most important club in the bag, some would say. I’ve got a trusty old putter that’s seen better days, but it’s always been pretty reliable. Gave it a good cleaning, checked the grip – still sticky enough.

So, there you have it. My attempt at recreating Adam Scott’s WITB. Did it magically transform my game? Nope. Did I feel a little bit cooler pretending to be a pro? Absolutely. Will I keep tinkering and trying to improve? You bet. That’s half the fun of golf, right? The endless quest for the perfect swing, the perfect setup, the perfect round. Now, if only I could actually hit the ball straight…
