Okay, so I’ve been seeing these horseback riding exercise machines pop up everywhere, and I got curious. I mean, who wouldn’t want to get a workout that feels like you’re galloping across a field, right? So, I decided to give one a try.

Finding the Right Machine

First things first, I needed to find one. I did a quick search online, I quickly chose a place that have one, and I was ready to make a reservation.

My First Ride (and Wobble)

I showed up at the gym, a little nervous, I’ll admit. The machine looked kind of like a fancy rocking horse, but with a lot more going on. The trainer showed me how to get on – which, thankfully, was easier than mounting a real horse! – and how to adjust the settings.

  • Getting Started: I started at the lowest speed, just to get a feel for it. It was… weird. You’re bouncing up and down, trying to keep your balance, and engaging muscles you didn’t even know you had.
  • Picking up the Pace: Once I felt a bit more comfortable, I bumped up the speed. That’s when it started to feel more like a real ride. My core was working overtime, and my legs were definitely feeling the burn.
  • Different “Gaits”: The cool thing is, the machine simulates different gaits, like a walk, trot, and canter. I can feel different muscle working.

The Aftermath (and the Verdict)

I spent about 30 minutes on the machine, and by the end, I was surprisingly sweaty. My inner thighs were definitely feeling it, and my core felt like I’d done a hundred crunches. The next day? Oh yeah, I was sore. But in a good way! It felt like I’d had a really solid workout, and it was way more fun than the treadmill.

Would I do it again? Absolutely. It’s a fun, different way to get some exercise, and it definitely works muscles that I don’t normally use. It can simulate the real riding, which make me feel so good. If you’re looking for a low-impact workout that’s a little out of the ordinary, I’d say give it a try. Just be prepared to wobble a bit at first!
