Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this “Elden Ring” game for a while now, and let me tell you, I’ve tried a bunch of different weapons. But there’s this one spear, the Bolt of Gransax, that’s just crazy fun. I mean, it shoots lightning! How cool is that?
So, I got this idea in my head. I wanted to use this spear, but I also like casting those lightning spells. Turns out, the special move of the spear only gets stronger if you level up your Dexterity. Spells, on the other hand, they need Faith. I figured, why not try both?
I started a new playthrough, my third one actually. I was already at a pretty high level, around 250 or something. I thought, “Hey, let’s try a build that focuses on both Strength and Dexterity.” That way, I can use all sorts of weapons, including this cool spear I found. Also, I like Player vs Player contents, so I wanted to make it also effective in those scenarios.
First, I focused on getting the Bolt of Gransax. It’s the only weapon I really cared about for this build. I saw online that it scales pretty well with Dexterity and it is strong with physical damage. Perfect, I had a good Dexterity.
I pumped a bunch of levels into Dexterity, and it does improve its damage! I also found out that this spear does extra damage to dragons. Not so much against those ancient dragon types, though. They’re super resistant to lightning.
Then there are these things called talismans. I picked four that I thought would be helpful. One lowers the cost of the spear’s special move, which is awesome because I can use it more often. Another one makes my attacks stronger if I’m at full health. And then there’s one that boosts the power of weapon skills in general, and another one that just gives me a bunch of extra stats, but it also makes me take more damage. Risky, but worth it.
- Carian Filigreed Crest: Makes the spear’s special move cheaper.
- Ritual Sword Talisman: More damage when I’m at full health.
- Shard of Alexander: Weapon skills hit harder.
- Radagon’s Soreseal: Gives me more stats but I take more damage.
Now, I’m running around with this lightning spear, zapping everything in sight. It’s a blast! I can switch to other Dexterity weapons if I need to, but honestly, the spear is just too much fun. I’m not sure if it’s the best build ever, but it works for me. I can do all right in PVP, and it’s definitely strong enough for regular gameplay.
And I also tried to make it in level 150, it is also good, but I will still recommend to make it in higher level.
My final thoughts?
This Bolt of Gransax build is a ton of fun. It might not be the most optimized thing out there, but who cares? I’m having a great time with it, and that’s all that matters. If you’re looking for a fun and different way to play Elden Ring, give this build a shot. You might just like it!
