Hey guys, what’s up! It’s your boy back again with another adventure in the wild world of Ark Survival Ascended. Today, I’m diving deep into the mysterious and frankly, quite intimidating world of the Giganotoraptor. Yeah, those giant, feathery beasts that look like they could swallow you whole. I tried to tame one of these bad boys, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride.

So, first things first, I had to find a Giganotoraptor nest. Spotted one after some searching, a big pile of sticks and bones, real welcoming, right? There it was, a baby Giganotoraptor, all fluffy and cute, but don’t let that fool you. Now, I had heard rumors about how to tame these things. Apparently, you gotta play a little game with the babies. No, seriously.
Getting Started
- Finding the Nest:
I wandered around for a bit, dodging other dinos and generally trying not to become lunch. Finally, I stumbled upon a nest. There she was, a Giganotoraptor mom, and she was huge! I carefully located the nest nearby.
- Isolating the Parent:
Now, the tricky part. I had to get the parent away from the nest. The advice I found said about 50 meters, no more. Took some doing, but I managed to lure her away with some raw meat. Let me tell you, trying to outrun an angry, giant, feathered dinosaur is not my idea of a relaxing afternoon.
The Taming Game
With the mom out of the picture (for now), I approached the baby. I expected this little guy to run up, and I thought I had a chance. Turns out the babies are picky eaters and enjoy a mini-game. But this little one gave me the cold shoulder. Kept turning away, wouldn’t even look at me. I tried everything – different foods, different approaches, nothing.
- Attempting the Minigame:
With mom out of sight, I tried to interact with the baby. I figured this would be the easy part, but no. The baby wasn’t having any of it. It straight up refused to play the game with me. Seriously! I felt like I was trying to bribe a toddler with broccoli.
- Dealing with Rejection:
I tried for a good while, but this baby Giganotoraptor was not impressed. Eventually, I had to give up. Plus, I could hear the mom coming back, and I really didn’t want to be there when she did.
Retreat and Regroup
So, I high-tailed it out of there. No tamed Giganotoraptor for me this time. It was a bit of a letdown, but hey, that’s Ark for you. Sometimes you win, sometimes you run for your life. I’m gonna do some more research, maybe find some other tips. I heard that if a baby refuses to play along, there might be other strategies. We’ll see.
Anyway, that’s it for this adventure. I’ll be back with more Ark stories soon. Maybe I’ll have better luck with the Giganotoraptor next time, or maybe I’ll find some other crazy creature to try and tame. Until then, stay safe out there, and watch out for those giant, feathery dinosaurs! They’re no joke. Peace out!
