Man, today was supposed to be smooth sailing. Fired up Arsenal City Live for some serious scouting work, bam! Totally blocked. Just a stupid spinning wheel mocking me. Ugh, this pissed me off right away because I needed this tool now, not whenever it felt like working.
Okay, Panic Then Plan
First reaction? Freak out a little. Closed it, reopened it – nada. Restarted the whole computer, like the old ‘turn it off and on again’ trick. Felt dumb, but hey, sometimes the dumb stuff works. Nope. Still blocked solid. Started yelling at the screen, which obviously didn’t help either. Figured alright, time to actually do something.
My First Try: The Obvious Network Stuff
Started digging around my internet settings. Remembered something about cached data messing things up. Did this:
- Opened the command prompt thing
- Typed in `ipconfig /flushdns` and hit enter – felt like a hacker for a second, ha!
- Checked my firewall settings, made absolutely sure Arsenal City Live wasn’t accidentally blocked there. Nope, it was listed as okay.
Re-launched it, all hopeful. Still absolutely nothing. Blocked screen staring back at me. Frustration level rising fast.
Second Shot: User File Stuff
Thought maybe something got scrambled where Arsenal City keeps its own files. Went hunting:
- Found where Arsenal City stashes its user junk – AppData folder buried deep.
- Found a specific folder named after it, probably storing my settings and cache.
- Grabbed that whole folder and just moved it to my desktop – basically hiding it from the app.
Ran Arsenal City Live again. This time, bam! It actually popped up! Looked fresh though, totally reset. So, good news? It wasn’t blocked anymore! Bad news? All my settings, saved profiles – gone. Ugh. Better than blocked, I guess?
Third Thing: Finding My Old Stuff
Not a real solution yet, just getting back what I lost. Since the app worked now with a clean setup:
- Went back to that folder sitting on my desktop.
- Poked through it carefully.
- Copied over ONLY the save files, not the whole mess of settings files.
- Placed just my profile saves back into the new user folder Arsenal City made.
Crossed my fingers. Restarted Arsenal City Live. Boom! It loaded, wasn’t blocked, and my scouting lists were back! Success finally! Mostly.
Final Thoughts… For Now
Honestly, it feels like I just put a bandaid on a leaky pipe. Moving that folder got rid of the block by resetting things, but what caused it to block up in the first place? No clue! Feels messy. Might happen again tomorrow, who knows. Still, at least I got it working today without needing some super expert magic. Maybe I should back up that save folder more often now? Sigh. Technology. It always fights back just when you need it.
