Okay, let me tell you what I remember about that whole Bautista and Odor thing.

Recalling that Day
I think I was just watching the game, maybe had it on in the background. You know how baseball games go, sometimes slow, sometimes something flares up. This one definitely flared up.
First thing, you saw Bautista get plunked. Hit by a pitch. Didn’t look accidental, you know? Felt like old business boiling over from before. You could kinda feel something might happen later.
Then later in the game, Bautista’s on base. He goes into second with a hard slide. Real hard. Looked like he was trying to take out the fielder, Odor in this case. Some folks say it was clean, some say dirty, but it was definitely aggressive.
Odor, he just stood there after the play. Bautista gets up, maybe says something, takes a step. Odor gives him a little shove first, I think.
Then boom. Odor just unloaded. Straight right hand to Bautista’s jaw. Connected clean. Sunglasses went flying. You don’t see punches land that solid very often in these things.

Absolute chaos after that, naturally. Both benches emptied out onto the field. Lots of yelling, pushing, guys grabbing each other. The usual baseball scrum, but it felt way more intense because of that punch.
Everyone knew why it happened, really. That bat flip Bautista did against the Rangers the year before in the playoffs… stuff like that simmers. It felt like payback, first the pitch, then Odor reacting to the slide. Just a whole mess built up over time.
Was quite something to see unfold live, or close to it. Just raw reaction right there on the field. Not something you forget easily.
