So this past Sunday, I was digging through my old external hard drive trying to find some photos from 2011. You know how it goes—takes forever and you end up falling down memory lane. Well, buried in a folder labeled “MISC CRAP” I found these grainy recordings I made of the 2010-2011 Boston Celtics season.

My first thought? “Man, I totally forgot I even saved these!” Back then, I’d stay up crazy late just to record games on my crappy DVR. Quality was potato-level, but whatever. I dragged those files onto my laptop. Opened VLC player, grabbed a beer, and just… pressed play. Instantly hit by Big Three feels. Pierce’s stone-cold jumper, KG screaming after blocks, Rondo’s no-look wizardry.
Okay, rewind—here’s exactly what I did:
First thing was organizing the clips chronologically. January 2011 games were a total mess—filenames like “CeltvsKnicksjan???.avi”. Took me an hour just to fix the dates by checking play-by-play logs online. Found that insane Ray Allen corner three against the Knicks on Jan 12th. Rewatched it four times. Still got chills.
Then I scanned through every clutch moment I’d clipped. Skipped ahead using the timeline bar like a madman—pause, rewind, play, repeat. Found that sequence where Rondo straight-up stole the ball from Wade in Miami, dribbled behind his back around LeBron, and dished to Pierce for the and-one. Lost my dang mind all over again.
The real gold?
Stumbled on the Feb 6th game vs Orlando. Remembered KG went berserk. Watched him reject Dwight Howard THREE times in one possession! My beer got warm cause I kept jumping up yelling “NO SOUP FOR YOU!” at the screen. Ended up making a messy bullet list of top plays:
- Rondo’s 18 assists vs Knicks – dude was a puppet master
- Shaq missing two free throws then IMMEDIATELY getting a steal and dunking on his own miss. Comedy.
- Pierce draining the game-winner at Milwaukee – looked like he didn’t even care.
Finished the entire project at like 2AM. Uploaded the edited clips to my NAS (after three failed attempts because my internet crapped out). Realized halfway that I mislabeled the Rondo assist clip. Whatever. Point is? Found pure nostalgia fuel in that jumble of low-res footage.
