Okay, so I finally got around to checking out that Two Rivers Golf Course in Nashville I’d heard so much about. Here’s how the whole thing went down.
Getting There and Getting Started
First things first, I looked up the address and punched it into my GPS. Getting there was pretty straightforward, no crazy backroads or anything. I pulled up to the course, and honestly, it looked pretty decent from the outside. Nothing super fancy, but well-maintained.
I headed inside to the pro shop to pay my greens fees. The guy behind the counter was friendly enough, and I got checked in without any hassle. I also grabbed a scorecard and a pencil, you know, the essentials.
Hitting the Links
- I decided to start on the front nine. The first few holes were pretty open, not too many trees to worry about. My drives were a little shaky at first, but I managed to keep the ball in play, for the most part.
- Around the middle of the front nine, things got a bit more challenging. There were a couple of water hazards that I definitely had to pay attention to. I think I even plunked one ball into the pond on the 7th. Oops!
- My short game was a bit of a mixed bag. I sunk a couple of nice putts, but I also flubbed a few chips around the green. Definitely need to work on that.
The Back Nine and Wrap-Up
The back nine was a bit more wooded, which I actually liked. It felt a little more secluded, and the scenery was nicer. I started hitting my irons a little better on the back nine, which helped me save a few strokes.
By the end of the round, I was pretty tired, but it was a good kind of tired. I didn’t shoot my best score ever, but I still had a fun time. I ended up shooting, don’t laugh, around 15.
Overall, I’d say Two Rivers is a solid course. It’s not the fanciest place in the world, but it’s well-maintained, reasonably priced, and offers a good mix of challenges. I’d definitely go back again, maybe with a few buddies next time.
