Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little experiments. Today’s title kinda gives it away – “burrow playing chess against himself”. Sounds a bit crazy, right? Well, let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride.

Burrow Playing Chess Against Himself: Learn from the Best and Win Every Time!

So, I was chilling at home, scrolling through my phone, and I stumbled upon some news about Joe Burrow, the Bengals quarterback. Apparently, this dude keeps a chessboard in his locker. It got me thinking, what if I tried playing chess against myself? I mean, I’ve seen people say that it helps you understand the game better, makes you think about your moves, you know.

First off, I set up my old chessboard. I dusted it off – haven’t used this thing in ages. Then, I just sat there, staring at it. It felt kinda weird at first. I mean, who plays chess against themselves? But hey, Burrow does it, and he’s a pro athlete, so why not?

  • I started with the white pieces, made my first move.
  • Then I switched chairs, became the black pieces, and responded.
  • Back and forth, I went, from one side of the board to the other.

It was a slow game, I gotta admit. I was taking my time, trying to think like two different players. I even started talking to myself, like, “Okay, if I move here, what would I do as the other guy?” My dog looked at me like I was losing it, but I kept going.

It got pretty intense. I was trying to outsmart myself, which is a weird feeling. Sometimes, I would make a move and then, as the other player, I’d be like, “Damn, that was a good move!” Other times, I’d make a dumb move and immediately regret it, even though I was the one who made it.

The result?

Honestly, it was a draw. I guess I’m equally good and bad at chess. But it was a fun experience. It felt like I was training my brain or something. I could see how playing against yourself could make you a better player. You start to see the game from different angles. I tried to make some moves to keep the game interesting and it worked for a few hours.

I didn’t finish the game, But I think I will play it again tomorrow. I started to feel tired at last. I’ll probably try this again sometime. Maybe I’ll become a chess master, who knows? Anyway, that’s my story of playing chess against myself. If you’re bored and have a chessboard lying around, give it a try. It’s a unique experience, to say the least. Peace out!
