Last week I decided to grab the new Liverpool home kit for my nephew’s birthday, but honestly got totally shocked looking at prices. Started comparing myself ‘cause something felt off.

First I checked the club shop

Hopped onto Liverpool’s official store first – that’s always my starting point. The 2023/2024 home shirt was sitting right there at £84.99. Felt way steeper than last year’s version. Clicked over to the away kit – same bloody price! £85 for polyester? Bit mad.

Then I scrolled through other shops

Opened like ten tabs checking other places:

  • Sports Direct wanted £80 – still painful but five quid cheaper
  • JD Sports had the home kit at £79.99 weirdly
  • Fanatics UK listed it full whack £84.99 with “free standard delivery” – big whoop

Took ages ‘cause some sites showed kids sizes cheaper upfront while others hid pricing till checkout.

Almost pulled the trigger on the away kit

Nearly bought the purple away shirt from JD Sports when I spotted it £79.99. But then I got paranoid about sizing – reviews mentioned Adidas kits running small this season. Didn’t wanna deal with returns hell so I walked away.

Ended up getting nothing honestly

Stared at my cart for ages feeling proper ripped off. Last season I paid £70 tops for a genuine kit. Now everyone’s charging Premier League premium prices. My nephew’s getting LEGO instead. Might hunt for sales later but honestly what’s going on with these prices? Feels like we’re paying for air these days.
