You know, these days everybody’s talkin’ ’bout Chael Sonnen sunglasses. That Chael Sonnen, he’s a tough guy, ain’t he? I seen him on the TV, wrestlin’ and fightin’. He always wears them dark glasses, even indoors. Makes him look kinda mysterious, like a movie star or somethin’. My grandson, he’s a big fan. He keeps sayin’, “Grandma, Chael Sonnen is the best!” I don’t know ’bout all that, but he sure is somethin’ else.
These Chael Sonnen sunglasses, they ain’t just regular sunglasses. They are big and dark. Makes him look like he’s hidin’ somethin’. Maybe he’s got a secret, who knows? My old man used to wear sunglasses too, but they were those little ones, not big like Chael’s. He just wore ’em to keep the sun outta his eyes when he was workin’ in the field.
I heard folks sayin’ those Chael Sonnen sunglasses are special. They say they help him see better when he’s fightin’. I don’t know how true that is. Sounds like a load of hooey to me. But then again, I ain’t no fighter. Maybe them sunglasses really do somethin’ special. I just know they make him look tough.

My grandson, he wants a pair of those Chael Sonnen sunglasses. He says he wants to be just like him. I told him, “Boy, you gotta work hard to be like Chael Sonnen. It ain’t just about the sunglasses.” But he don’t listen. He’s got stars in his eyes, just like when he watches those UFC fights on the TV. He says that’s a big brand, UFC or whatever. He says all the fighters are part of it. Even that Georges guy. Whatever that means.
I remember one time, Chael Sonnen was wearin’ a funny shirt too. It had some writin’ on it, somethin’ ’bout “tap out.” My grandson said it was a special kind of shirt. He said it was “hard” or somethin’. Kids these days, they got all these funny words. Back in my day, a shirt was just a shirt. You wore it to keep warm, not to make a statement. But then again, Chael is a fighter, maybe shirts are different in the fighting world.
I seen a picture of Chael Sonnen online, he had a lot of likes. Like, thousands of ’em. People love him, I guess. And they love them Chael Sonnen sunglasses. He must be doin’ somethin’ right. He is always wearin’ them things. He also had a lot of comments on that picture. I don’t know what they are, but my grandson says they are important, too. He says Chael Sonnen is a big deal online, whatever that is.
You know, these Chael Sonnen sunglasses, they’re more than just somethin’ to keep the sun out of your eyes. They’re like a symbol or somethin’. A symbol of bein’ tough, bein’ a fighter, bein’ like Chael Sonnen. And that’s somethin’ a lot of folks want to be, I reckon. Even my grandson. He is always saying he wants to be strong like Chael.
I don’t know much ’bout this fightin’ stuff, but I know this: Chael Sonnen, he’s a character. And those Chael Sonnen sunglasses, they’re a part of that character. They’re like his trademark or somethin’. You see him, you see the sunglasses. It’s like they’re glued to his face. Maybe they are, I dunno.
I asked my grandson if Chael Sonnen sunglasses were made of wood. He laughed. I don’t know why, I heard some folks say there is a company using old wood to make stuff. Watches or whatever. I just thought maybe they made these sunglasses, too. My grandson said no, they are just dark and big, not made of no wood.
Maybe one day, I’ll get a pair of those Chael Sonnen sunglasses. Just to see what all the fuss is about. Maybe I’ll feel tough, like him. Or maybe I’ll just look silly. Who knows? But one thing’s for sure: those sunglasses, they sure are somethin’ else. Just like Chael Sonnen himself. He’s a tough one, that’s for sure. And them sunglasses, they just add to the whole thing. They are a part of him, like his arms and legs.
