Okay, so I recently checked out this place called Chickasaw Golf Course in Tennessee. Let me tell you, it was quite an experience. I’d heard a few things about it, mostly mixed reviews, so I figured, why not give it a shot myself?
First off, I drove down to Henderson, where the course is located. It’s not too far, pretty easy to find. I went in early October, and the weather was just perfect – clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight. It really set the mood for a good day of golf.
So, I learned that this course was actually saved from going under a couple of years ago. Some guy named David Chasteen and his wife took it over, and from what I saw, they’ve done a decent job sprucing it up.
- I started playing, and I’ve got to say, the layout of the course is pretty nice. It’s challenging but not in a frustrating way, you know?
- There were some really memorable holes, and the scenery was just great.
- But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. I ran into a few of the members, and let’s just say they weren’t the friendliest bunch.
- That kind of put a damper on things, but I tried not to let it ruin my day.
I took a look at the scorecard – they had all the usual info: the course ratings, the yardages, pars, and all that stuff. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but it was all well-maintained and easy to follow.
Overall, I had a pretty good time at Chickasaw. The course itself is great, and the setting is beautiful. If you can get past the occasional grumpy member, it’s definitely worth a visit. I’d probably rate it around 4 out of 5. It’s not the best course I’ve ever played, but it’s far from the worst. If you’re in the area and looking for a decent round of golf, give Chickasaw a try. You might just enjoy it like I did.
