Alright, so I got it in my head the other day that I needed to put together a proper Kenny Chesney song list. You know, one of those go-to lists for when you just want that specific vibe. Maybe for a barbecue, maybe just for cruising around. It felt like a practical thing to have ready.

First thing I did was just sit and think. What are the absolute must-haves? The songs that immediately jump out. Stuff like ‘Summertime’, naturally, and maybe ‘No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems’. Just kinda brainstormed those initial thoughts, jotted ’em down rough on a notepad.
Then I figured I should dig a little deeper. I went through some music lists, looking back at his albums over the years. Man, there’s a lot there. I started adding more to my notepad, trying to remember which ones really hit right. Added things like ‘American Kids’ and ‘When the Sun Goes Down’. My list started getting pretty long at this point.
Putting it Together
Okay, so now I had this big messy list. The next step was cleaning it up. I started thinking about the flow. Can’t have all fast songs clumped together, gotta mix in some of the slower ones, the more thoughtful tracks. I looked over the list again.
- Checked for any obvious ones I missed.
- Thought about songs that maybe didn’t quite fit the mood I was going for.
- Made sure I had a good mix of his different sounds over the years.
I spent a bit of time rearranging, scribbling things out, adding a couple I’d forgotten initially. It was a bit of back-and-forth, trying to get it just right. You know, making sure tracks like ‘Get Along’ found a spot too.
Finally, I typed up the final version. Ended up with a pretty solid collection, I think. Got the big hits, got some personal favorites, feels like a good representation of his stuff. Felt good to have it organized and ready to go. Now I can just pull it up whenever the mood strikes.
