Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about the wild ride I had watching the CU vs. Baylor game. I’ve been following CU for years, and this one was a real nail-biter, let me tell you.

First off, I made sure to mark my calendar for Saturday. I knew this was a big game – CU’s return to the Big 12, facing off against Baylor. I even double-checked the kickoff time: 6 p.m. MT. Gotta be punctual, you know? Planned my whole day around it, made sure I got all my chores done early. Even made sure I grabbed some snacks and drinks beforehand, because you can’t watch a game like this on an empty stomach.
Then, I hunted down the channel. KDVR, got it. Made sure my TV was all set up and ready to go. Flipped to the channel, and bam, there it was. Game time!
Now, I had been reading up on this matchup all week. I knew Baylor was no pushover. They’d only allowed 29 points in their first three games! Their defense was supposed to be rock-solid. I also saw that some folks, like the guys over at USA Today, were predicting a close win for CU, something like 28-20. They were saying Baylor’s defense hadn’t really been tested yet. I was pretty pumped to see how this would all play out.
The game started, and it was intense from the get-go. I was glued to the screen, watching every play unfold. CU’s offense was trying to get their running game going. I remembered reading something about them having a season-high 19 rushing attempts for 109 yards in a previous game, so I was hoping they could do that again. And you know what? They were making some good progress. They definitely were trying to improve upon their previous games.
I noticed CU’s offense was making a lot of progress, and even got a lot of scores. I was thinking to myself, “This is it, we’re gonna win this!”. I also saw Baylor’s defense was struggling to keep up. It was a close game, but it looked like CU was going to pull it off. I even remember seeing a stat that CU leads the all-time series 9-7, so I was feeling pretty confident.

But then, things got crazy. Baylor started making some big plays. It was back and forth, back and forth. My heart was pounding. I was yelling at the TV, cheering for CU, groaning when Baylor scored. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, I’m telling you. Time was running out, and it was looking like Baylor might actually win.
Then, in the final seconds, CU’s Shedeur Sanders threw a 43-yard touchdown pass! Regulation time expired, and the game was tied! I couldn’t believe it. We were going into overtime! Everyone around me was jumping up and down, it was total chaos. I even got a call from my friend who was also watching the game, and we were both freaking out. The overtime was just as intense as the rest of the game.
Finally, after all that excitement, CU pulled it off. They won 38-31 in overtime! I was so relieved and so happy. It was an incredible game, one of the best I’d seen in a long time.
Here’s what I took away from it all:
- CU’s offense really stepped up. They kept pushing, even when things got tough.
- Baylor’s defense wasn’t as invincible as everyone thought. CU managed to find some holes and exploit them.
- Shedeur Sanders is a clutch player. That last-second touchdown pass was amazing. He did great.
- Never give up, even when the odds are stacked against you. CU proved that anything is possible.
After the game, I celebrated a bit, talked to some friends about it, and then spent some time reading all the post-game analysis online. It was fascinating to see what everyone else thought about the game. What a day! It was a reminder of why I love college football so much. The excitement, the drama, the unexpected twists and turns, you just can’t beat it. Can’t wait for the next game!

If you get a chance, you gotta check out some highlights from the game. I’m telling you, it was a wild one!
Anyway, that’s my story. Hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what you thought of the game in the comments!
