Okay, here’s my story about playing at Cypress Links golf course:

So, I recently hit up this place called Cypress Links. It’s a 9-hole, par-3 course right next to Mangrove Bay. I’d heard some good things about it, figured I’d give it a shot.
First off, let me tell you, this place is pretty well kept. As soon as I stepped onto the fairways, I could tell they take good care of the course. It’s right at the entrance to Mangrove Bay, which I guess has won some awards or something. Anyway, the course itself, it’s not a walk in the park, you know? It’s a par-3, but it’s got its challenges.
Now, the thing about these links courses is that they don’t water them like crazy. The fairways can be as fast, or even faster than the greens. That’s what I found out. Makes the course play a lot narrower than you’d expect. Your ball lands, and it just keeps on going. Not like those courses where the ball just stops dead where it lands.
I had to adjust my game a bit. You can’t just go for those high-flying shots all the time. I found myself using my woods and long irons off the tee more often. And those bump-and-run shots? Those low chip-and-runs? Those became my best friends. It was all about keeping the ball low, especially with the wind.
- Keeping it low: I really had to focus on keeping my shots low to the ground.
- Using the terrain: The course has these undulations, and I learned to use them to my advantage.
- Dealing with the wind: Man, the wind was a big factor. I had to learn to play it, to figure out how much it would affect my ball.
It was a good challenge, though. Made me think about every shot, you know? Had to really plan it out, consider the wind, the terrain, all that jazz. It wasn’t just about hitting the ball as far as I could. It was about control, about being smart.

I even heard someone say it’s the best club in Palm Beach County. I wouldn’t go that far since I only played once, but, yeah, I can see why people like it. It’s a different kind of golf. It’s a bit more raw, a bit more real.
All in all, it was a good day out. I’d definitely go back to Cypress Links. It’s a fun little course, good for a quick round. And hey, it’s always nice to challenge yourself, right?
