Okay, so I’ve been curious about baccarat lately. Everyone always says it’s got the best odds in the casino, but I wanted to see for myself. So, I decided to do a little experiment.

First, I spent some time just watching. I headed to a local casino and found a baccarat table that wasn’t too crowded. I stood there for a good hour, just observing the game, trying to get a feel for the flow and how people were betting.
Next, I wanted to get some actual data. I grabbed a notepad and pen (yeah, old school, I know) and started tracking the results of each hand. I marked down whether the “Player,” “Banker,” or “Tie” bet won. I did this for about 50 hands, making sure to keep my notes accurate.
After the live observation, I wanted some pratice by myself. I found some free online baccarat games. I figured this would be a good way to test out different betting strategies without risking any real money, and continue track the “Player,” “Banker,” or “Tie” results. I played a few hundred hands, again keeping track of the outcomes.
My Little Findings
- Banker Bet Wins: It seemed like the Banker bet won a little more often, just like the sources had indicated. It was not always, but a little bit more!
- Player Bet Wins: The Player bet was pretty close behind. It felt almost like a coin flip, but not quite.
- Tie Bet: The Tie bet, well, it didn’t happen very often. I’m glad I didn’t put any real money on that one during my live observation!
So, what did I learn? Baccarat felt the odds are decent, especially that Banker bet. But “best” is that it’s all relative, it still has risks. And most importantly, I confirmed what I read online: the Tie bet is a long shot.
It was a fun experiment, and while I won’t be quitting my day job to become a baccarat pro, I can see why people like the game. It’s simple, fast-paced, and the odds aren’t terrible.
