Okay, so I’ve been wanting to do this “Elisha and the Ravens” thing for a while, you know, just to see if I could pull it off. It sounded kinda cool and biblical, and I thought, why not give it a shot?

Getting Started
First, I needed to find some ravens. Not the easiest thing, let me tell you. I live in a pretty normal suburban area, not exactly raven central. So, I started by looking around my backyard. Nothing. Then, I checked the local park. Still nothing.
I spent a good couple of hours just wandering around, looking like a crazy person staring at trees. I even tried making some “caw caw” sounds, which, in retrospect, was probably a mistake. My neighbors definitely gave me some weird looks.
The Breakthrough
Finally, I decided to drive out to a more rural area, near some farms. And there they were! A whole bunch of ravens, just hanging out in a field.
The “Feeding”
Now, the Bible story talks about ravens bringing Elisha food, so I figured I should bring something too. I grabbed a loaf of bread from the grocery store – whole wheat, because, you know, healthy birds. I tossed some pieces of bread towards the ravens, and they actually came over! They ate the bread, and I felt like I was having a real “Elisha and the Ravens” moment.
- Find ravens location.
- Prepare bread.
- Feed ravens.
The Aftermath
Honestly, it was pretty cool. Maybe not life-changing, but definitely a fun little experiment. It made me appreciate nature a bit more, and it was a good excuse to get out of the house. Plus, I got a pretty good story out of it.

Would I do it again? Maybe. If I ever find myself in a prophet-like situation, I’ll know what to do. Until then, I’ll just stick to feeding the squirrels in my backyard.
