Today, I want to share my experience with the Jarama Circuit. I’ve always been a huge racing fan, and getting the chance to actually drive on a legendary track like Jarama was a dream come true.

Getting Started
First things first, I booked a track day. I did some research online to find an organization. And then I chose a date that worked for my schedule and, more importantly, for the weather forecast – nobody wants to race in the rain!
Next, I had to get my car ready. It’s not a fancy race car, just my daily driver, but I wanted to make sure it was in top shape. That included checking tires, changing brake and topping off all the fluids. Safety first, right?
The Big Day
I arrived at the track early in the morning. The atmosphere was electric! There were all sorts of cars there, from souped-up hatchbacks to actual, dedicated racing machines. I signed in, got my wristband, and attended the mandatory drivers’ briefing. The instructor went over the track rules, flags, and safety procedures. This was super important, especially since it was my first time on Jarama.
After that, I walked the track. It helps to get a feel for the layout, corners, and elevation changes. I tried to visualize my racing line and braking points.
Hitting the Track
- My first session was nerve-wracking but exhilarating! I started slow, getting a feel for the car’s behavior on the track.
- I gradually increased my speed with each lap, trying to find the limits of grip.
- I focused on smooth inputs – steering, braking, and throttle control. No jerky movements!
- The most challenging part was definitely the corners. I worked to find correct position.
What a Feeling!
By the end of the day, I was exhausted but completely buzzing. My lap times had improved significantly, and I felt way more confident in my driving abilities. It was an incredible experience to push myself and my car to the limit in a safe and controlled environment. Plus, the camaraderie among the drivers was awesome. Everyone was there to have fun and learn.

If you’re a car enthusiast, I highly recommend experiencing a track day. It’s a fantastic way to improve your driving skills and have an absolute blast.
