Okay, folks, let’s talk about my little adventure to Thoroughbred Park in Lexington. I’ve been meaning to check this place out for ages, and I finally made it happen!

First, I did what any sensible person does: I looked it up online. I wanted to get a feel for the place, see what the hours were, you know, the basic stuff. I saw some pictures, read a few reviews, and decided, “Yep, this looks like my kind of place.”
So, I hopped in my car. Getting there was pretty straightforward. I just plugged the address into my GPS, and boom, I was on my way. I think. There might have been a minor detour… or two, but hey, that’s part of the adventure, right?
Exploring the Park
When I got to the park, the first thing I did was find a parking spot. That’s always the first challenge, isn’t it? Lucky for me, there were plenty of open spots.
Then, I just started wandering around. I didn’t really have a plan, I just wanted to soak it all in. I walked. I saw the statues, the cool horse sculptures. That are the whole point, right?
I spent a good chunk of time just admiring the statues. They’re seriously impressive. The detail, the scale, everything. It really captures the spirit of horse racing.

I really appreciated how peaceful everything was.
- Sat on a bench. Because, why not? It’s nice to just sit and relax sometimes.
- Took some photos. Gotta document the experience, right? Plus, the lighting was pretty good.
- People-watched. There were families, couples, other solo wanderers like myself. It was a nice mix of folks.
Wrapping Up
After a couple of hours, I decided to call it a day. I was feeling refreshed, relaxed, and maybe a little bit sunburnt. I’ll have to be more mindful in the future, I think.
I headed back to my car, feeling pretty good about my little excursion. It was a simple day, nothing too crazy, but that’s exactly what I needed.
So, that’s my Thoroughbred Park experience. If you’re ever in Lexington, I’d definitely recommend checking it out. It’s a great place to unwind, enjoy some art, and maybe even get a little bit of exercise.

It’s a calm place that shows you what horse racing should be, and it has a nice atmosphere.
