Okay, so the other day I got thinking about the Lakers, specifically that 2018 team. You know, the one right when LeBron James first showed up. It feels like ages ago now, right? I couldn’t quite place everyone who was on the court that season besides the big names, so I decided to look it up.
First thing I did, pretty standard stuff, I just grabbed my phone. Opened up the browser, you know the drill. I think I typed something simple like “Lakers roster 2018” into the search bar. Didn’t need anything fancy.
Got a bunch of results back, naturally. Sports sites, news articles from back then, fan pages, all that stuff. I skipped past the ads and clicked on one of the first links that looked like a straightforward sports stats site. Sometimes those fan wikis are okay, but I prefer the official-looking ones for rosters, usually more accurate I find.
The first page I landed on seemed decent. It had a list of names. I scanned through it. Yeah, there was LeBron, obvious enough. Then I saw the young guys:

- Josh Hart
Remember that core? Felt like they had potential back then.

But I wanted the whole picture. So I kept scrolling, making sure I wasn’t missing anyone. Saw names like JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson… ah yes, the veteran crew they brought in alongside LeBron. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was there too, KCP. It was quite a mix, thinking back on it. There were a few other guys too, maybe some end-of-bench players or guys who played fewer games, like Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac before he got traded.
I kinda mentally checked them off. Didn’t write it down or anything, just wanted to refresh my memory. It’s funny how quick you forget who was actually playing together just a few years back. That team was definitely… interesting. A lot of hype with LeBron, mixing with those young players and some real characters with Rondo and Stephenson.
So yeah, that was basically it. Just a quick search, clicked a reliable-looking link, scanned the names. Didn’t take long at all. Got the info I needed, satisfied my curiosity about that specific Lakers squad from 2018. Mission accomplished.
