This Fairview CC, lemme tell ya, it’s somethin’ else. Heard folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market, sayin’ it’s a fancy place. Fairview CC, they call it. Sounds like a place for them rich folks, ya know? But I heard they got a golf course there. Big, green, and they whack that little white ball around. My grandson, he likes that golf stuff. Me? I don’t get it. But maybe Fairview CC is good for him.
They say it’s a “country club”. What’s that even mean? Sounds like a place where they got cows and chickens runnin’ around. But I guess not. They got that golf, and I heard they got other things too. Fancy things, I bet. I saw some pictures once, it has a lot of green grass. So much grass for just hitting a ball. I don’t know how long it will take to mow. But that’s for those Fairview CC folks to worry about, not me.
Someone said you gotta be a “member” to go there. Like joinin’ a club or somethin’. Pay money and all that. Lots of money, I bet. Probably more than I make in a year sellin’ my jams and jellies. Not everyone can go to this Fairview CC, you know. You gotta be special, got the money. I guess I won’t see this place any time soon.
I heard it’s in Greenwich. Where’s that? Somewhere far, I reckon. Not like our little town here. We got our own little market, and the church, and that’s all we need. This Fairview CC, it’s for a different kind of people. Folks with fancy cars and big houses. But I don’t need their fancy stuff.
They say people write “reviews” about this place. Like they’re tellin’ stories or somethin’. Good stories, bad stories, all about their time at Fairview CC. I guess if you’re gonna spend all that money, you wanna know what you’re gettin’ into. But readin’ reviews is hard for me. My eyes ain’t what they used to be.

- They say it’s for members only.
- They say it’s in a place called Greenwich.
- They say it’s fancy.
My neighbor, she went there once. Said her husband knows someone who’s a member. She said it was real nice. Clean, she said. And quiet. Not like our town where the dogs are barkin’ and the kids are yellin’. This Fairview CC, it’s like a whole different world, she said. But it’s not for me. I’m too old for that.
They got somethin’ called “green fees,” I heard. More money, I guess. For playin’ that golf. And they got 18 holes. What’s a hole? I don’t get it. But it sounds like a lot of walkin’. My old bones ain’t up for that, no sir. This Fairview CC, it’s for the young folks, the ones with energy. And money of course.
They got other sports there, maybe. Some folks talk about playin’ cricket. I don’t know what it is. Sounds like some bugs makin’ noise. But I know, it is a kind of sport. There are also some sports simulators, I don’t know what they are. Maybe just a video game, but who knows? I guess this Fairview CC is just not for us.
I saw a picture of some buildin’ called the “Marylebone Cricket Club”. Don’t know where that is. I think that’s not in this country. But who knows, I don’t even know where Greenwich is. Those people have their own language. This is not related to Fairview CC. I just don’t know what that is.
Maybe this Fairview CC is a good place, maybe it ain’t. I don’t know. It’s not for me to say. I’m just a simple woman, livin’ a simple life. I got my garden, my chickens, my grandkids. That’s all I need. Those fancy places, they can keep ’em. But if you got the money, and you like that golf, maybe you should check out that Fairview CC. Just don’t forget where you came from.
