Okay, so I’ve been wanting a Max Holloway action figure for, like, forever. Seriously, the guy’s a legend, and I needed a mini-Blessed Era champ to grace my desk. I looked everywhere, but nobody seemed to make one. So, I figured, “Fine, I’ll do it myself!”

Find Your Max Holloway Action Figure: Top Picks & Buying Guide!

The Hunt for Parts

First, I needed a base figure. Something with a similar build to Max. I spent a good few hours digging through boxes of old action figures I had stored away – mostly wrestling guys and some random superheroes. I finally found an old WWE figure that was, you know, close enough. The body was ripped, but the face was all wrong. Total mismatch.

Head Swap!

Next challenge: the head. This was the tricky part. I searched online for, like, “1/12 scale heads” and “custom action figure heads,” and wow, there’s a whole world of this stuff out there! I eventually stumbled across a seller who made custom heads. The price? Not cheap, but I really want get the perfect head for my Max.

The Painting Process

  • Step 1: Prepping. I carefully popped off the original head of the wrestling figure (it was surprisingly easy!). Then, I gently sanded down any rough edges on both the body and the new head to make sure everything would fit nicely.
  • Step 2: The Body. I’m no artist, but I grabbed some acrylic paints and tiny brushes. I mixed the paints to get that, like, perfect skin tone. It took a couple of tries, and I definitely messed up a few times, wiping it off and starting again.
  • Step 3:The Shorts. Painting the shorts, and I layered the paint, letting each coat dry before adding the next. It took forever, but it was worth it.
  • Step 4: The Head. The custom head was already pretty detailed, but I added a little bit of extra paint to bring out the features, especially around the eyes and mouth. I also tried to match the skin tone to the body as closely as possible.

Putting It All Together

Once everything was dry, I carefully attached the new head to the body. It was a pretty snug fit, so I didn’t even need glue! Then came the moment of truth… I stood him up, and… boom! My very own custom Max Holloway action figure!

Honestly, it’s not perfect. There are a few little paint smudges, and the skin tone isn’t a 100% match, but I’m super proud of it. It’s my Max Holloway, and he’s now standing proudly on my desk, ready to defend his title against any other action figures that dare to challenge him. It maybe take lots of time, but it is worthy!
