That Formula 1 thing, the Austrian Grand Prix in 2016, I heard some folks talking ’bout it the other day. Sounds like a real hootenanny. All them cars going zoom zoom. I don’t know much about it, but I heard it was a big deal that year.

They said some fella named Lewis Hamilton, he won the whole darn thing. But it weren’t easy, no sir. That Mercedes car, I guess he was drivin’, and this other fella, Nico Rosberg, they were on the same team, if you can believe it. They were fightin’ like cats and dogs, I reckon.
That Rosberg, he was winnin’ a whole bunch at the start. Five races, they said! And Hamilton, he only won two. Twenty-four points behind, that’s what I heard. That’s a big ol’ gap, like tryin’ to jump over a whole creek without gettin’ your feet wet. But he caught up, that Hamilton, yeah, he did. He won that Austrian Grand Prix.
They said it was a real nail-biter, right down to the last lap. Them two, Hamilton and Rosberg, they bumped into each other. Can you imagine? On the same team and bangin’ into each other like a couple of billy goats. I guess that’s how they do things in that Formula 1. It is a race.
And then there’s this young fella, name of Oscar Piastri. I heard he did alright, too, not in 2016, though. He weren’t even there in 2016. He had a good time at the Austrian Grand Prix. Seems like he’s got a good head on his shoulders, that one. Had a rough patch in Barcelona, but bounced right back.
They showed some pictures, highlights they called ’em, of that 2016 race. All them cars, all that action. Whew! Kept me on the edge of my seat, I tell ya. Even saw some problems with the tires on them Ferrari cars. Looked like they were having a real tough time, like tryin’ to plow a field with a broken-down mule.

Here’s what I remember ’bout that race:
- Lewis Hamilton, he won, but it weren’t easy.
- Nico Rosberg, he was ahead for a long time, but then they crashed.
- Lots of action, cars all over the place.
- Them Ferrari cars had tire troubles, poor things.
- July 1st, that’s when it happened. I remember it was a hot summer.
And another race, another year, I don’t know which year. I heard someone talking about another Austrian Grand Prix. This fella, George Russell, he won it. But the real story was Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. They were leadin’ the whole thing, goin’ back and forth, and then, bam! They hit each other. Just like Hamilton and Rosberg. What is it with these fellas and bumpin’ into each other?
That Verstappen, he’s a Red Bull man, I think. And Norris, he’s with McLaren. They had a big fight earlier that day, too, with that Piastri fella, who’s also with McLaren. Sounds like a real mess, don’t it? A fight inside the team. And then fight on the track. They are wild.
This Verstappen, he was doin’ real good, got pole position, they called it. Sounds important. He must be a good driver, to get that pole position. But then he goes and crashes into Norris. I just don’t understand these young folks sometimes. All that speed and excitement, it just goes to their heads, I reckon.
So, that 2016 Austrian Grand Prix, it was somethin’ else. Hamilton won, Rosberg lost, and them Ferrari tires were a mess. And then years later, more crashin’ and bangin’ with Verstappen, Norris, and Russell. It’s a crazy world, that Formula 1. I don’t know how they keep it all straight. But it sure is fun to watch, I’ll give ’em that. Just like watchin’ a bunch of chickens runnin’ around with their heads cut off, but a lot faster and a lot more expensive, I imagine. This formula 1 thing is like watching a tornado go through a trailer park.

I reckon, that Austrian Grand Prix, it’s always a wild one. Lots of drama, lots of excitement. Just like a good ol’ fashioned barn raisin’, but with a lot more horsepower. And those fellas, they sure do know how to put on a show. Even if they do crash into each other every now and then. It’s all part of the fun, I guess. For sure, it is part of formula 1 thing.
