So I Tried This “Freak Show Fight” Thing…
Alright look, saw some wild video online about these crazy “freak show” fights. You know, weird-looking monsters throwing hands? Figured, screw it, time to dive in headfirst and see if I could actually win one of these things. Grabbed my controller, found a game mode that looked suitably insane, and jumped in. Total noob, zero clue. First fight? F#cked up bad. Like, really bad.

Started out thinking, “Okay, just punch it, right?” Wrong. Felt like hitting a brick wall. Monster dude just laughed – swear it actually laughed – and swatted me like a fly. Game Over screen flashed up faster than I could blink. Second attempt? Spammed the attack button like crazy. Did maybe 5% damage before getting grabbed and tossed across the screen. Felt like garbage.
Humbled, I Actually Paid Attention…
Sat there for a second, kinda pissed honestly. Decided maybe watching wasn’t enough; needed to actually see what the hell I was doing wrong. Started a new fight, focused just on survival first. Didn’t attack at all, just watched how the freak moved.
- Dodged like my life depended on it (because it kinda did).
- Blocked everything I could – surprised it actually worked sometimes.
- Noticed gaps between its wild swing combos. Like, moments where it was tired or winded.
That was the key. This stupid-looking rock monster wasn’t some fighting god; it got tired, it had patterns. Mind blown, right?
The Moves That Actually Started Working
Stopped wildly attacking. Got patient. Started waiting for those little gaps I spotted. And guess what? Hit WAY harder when I actually timed it right. Slowly, painfully, started chipping its health down.
Based just on what I learned actually doing this crap, here’s what helped me finally win:
- The Turtle Shell Block: Literally just held block like a scared turtle. Took less damage, survived longer to find openings.
- Quick Side-Step: Instead of backing up constantly, dodging sideways into the wind-up punch often confused the AI big time.
- One & Done Hit: Learned to resist spamming. Land ONE good, solid punch or kick in its breathing gap, then get the hell out of dodge immediately. Rinse, repeat. Boring? Yep. Effective? Hell yes.
- Poke its Weak Spot (Seriously): Accidentally noticed hitting some weird glowing spot took way more health off. Trial and error found which body part to focus on. Stupid, but worked.
- Whack-a-Mole Back Off: Sometimes the best move was NO move. Jump back hard out of range when it starts its rage wind-up animation. Let it whiff big time, then stroll in safely.
Seriously, tried fancy combos at first. Total disaster. Died instantly every time. Keeping it dead simple? Won my first fight using basically just block, dodge sideways sometimes, and a single punch when it gasped.
Yeah, it wasn’t flashy. Felt like cheesing it. But a win’s a win, especially against a mutant rock troll thing. Took patience and ignoring the urge to just spam buttons wildly. Practice mode was my best friend to nail the timing. Now? Still ain’t great, but not getting totally wrecked within 5 seconds feels like victory.
