Alright, so I wanted to see what my 2006 GSXR1000 could really do. I’ve always heard these bikes are beasts, but I wanted to test the 0 to 60 mph time myself. No fancy equipment, just me, the bike, and a somewhat decent road.

Getting Ready
First things first, I made sure the bike was warmed up. I didn’t want to push it too hard when it was cold. Rode around for about 15 minutes, getting the engine nice and toasty. Checked the tire pressure, too – gotta have good grip for this.
The Runs
- First run: Total fail. Wheelie city. I wasn’t used to the power, and the front end came right up. Definitely didn’t get a good time on that one.
- Second run: Better, but still not great. I was too cautious after the first attempt, so I didn’t launch hard enough. Felt like a slowpoke.
- Third run: This one was pretty good. I found a good balance between giving it gas and keeping the front wheel down. Felt really fast!
- Fourth run: I tried, to give it all.
My “Results”
Okay, so I didn’t have a professional timer or anything. Just used the stopwatch on my phone. I know, I know, not super accurate. But from what I could tell, my best run was somewhere in the high 2-second to low 3-second range.
I am sure about it, it’s under 3-second!
Honestly, it was more about the feeling than the exact number. That acceleration is insane! It’s like being shot out of a cannon. Definitely an adrenaline rush.
