Okay, let’s talk about grabbing that heavy core in Minecraft. It wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, let me tell you.

So, I decided I wanted one. Heard about it, saw it could be used for crafting the Mace, which sounded pretty cool. First thing, obviously, was finding one of those new trial chambers. Easier said than done, right? Spent a good while just wandering around underground, digging tunnels, following cave systems. Felt like I was looking for a needle in a haystack, honestly. It reminds me a bit of that time I lost my favorite wrench somewhere in the garage… took me ages, poking through boxes of junk.
Anyway, I finally stumbled into a trial chamber. You know the look, all that copper and tuff. Pretty neat design, gotta give them that. But okay, finding the place is just step one. The real headache was figuring out the whole ‘ominous’ part.
Getting Ominous
You need to trigger an ‘Ominous Event’. Back in my day, it was just ‘Bad Omen’ from killing raid captains, simple. Now? It’s these ‘Ominous Bottles’. I actually found my first one just sitting in a regular vault inside the chamber. Lucky break, I guess. You could also get them from raid captains still, but finding one in the chamber felt easier at the time.
So, you get this bottle. Then you gotta actually drink it while you’re inside the trial chamber area. This kicks off the Ominous Trial. Let me tell you, things get spicy real fast.
- The trial spawners go blue and start throwing tougher mobs at you.
- Sometimes they even shoot projectiles, like potions or arrows. Caught me off guard the first time.
- It felt way more chaotic than the regular trials. Lots of running around, blocking, and chugging potions.
I nearly bit the dust a couple of times, not gonna lie. My gear took a beating. Had to be really careful about managing the spawns and not getting overwhelmed. It’s a proper fight, requires focus.

The Payoff
After surviving the onslaught and clearing the ominous spawner, it dropped an Ominous Trial Key. Different look from the normal keys, more… ominous, fittingly enough. Now, the hunt was on for the Ominous Vault. These look different too, kinda glowy with that soul flame look.
Found one tucked away in a corner I hadn’t fully explored. Walked up, used the Ominous Trial Key on it, and boom! It spat out its loot. And right there, among the other bits and pieces, was the Heavy Core.
Holding it felt like a real achievement after all that effort. It’s a chunky-looking thing. Was it worth the hassle? Yeah, I guess so. Making that Mace afterwards was satisfying. But man, they don’t make getting the cool new stuff easy, do they? Always gotta jump through hoops. Still, got it done. That’s the important part.
