Okay, so I’ve always wanted to play at Pebble Beach. I mean, who hasn’t? It’s like the holy grail of golf courses. So, I finally decided to do it and let me tell you, figuring out the cost was a bit of a journey.

Then came the real kicker: to even get a tee time, you typically have to stay at one of the Pebble Beach Resorts for at least two nights. That was new news for me and it got me thinking if I could make it as planned. I checked out the prices for the Lodge, which seemed like the most popular option, and yep, it was pretty much what I was afraid of. They quoted me around $1,045 for the minimum two-night stay. Adding that to the green fee, I was looking at a total of roughly $2,465 just to play one round and have a place to sleep.
I also tried to find out if there was any way to play without staying there, maybe through some special package or membership, but no luck. It seemed like staying at the resort was pretty much a must. I even came across some info about a membership, something like an $18,000 initiation fee and $260 monthly dues, but that was way out of my league. Let’s be honest, that’s more than most people’s mortgages!
I did some more research and learned that the prices can change depending on the time of year. Also, there are extra costs, like if you want a caddie or a cart, which can add a couple hundred dollars more. I thought about trying to book way in advance, like 18 months, to maybe get a better deal, but even then, the prices were still high.
Honestly, it was a bit overwhelming. I mean, I love golf, but this was turning into a major expense. I started to see why they say it’s one of the most expensive rounds of golf in the world. But hey, it’s Pebble Beach, right? It’s not just any golf course. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing. Or so I’ve heard.
After all that research and number crunching, I finally decided to go for it. I booked my stay, scheduled my tee time, and started saving up. It’s definitely a splurge, but I figured, “When am I going to get the chance to do this again?”
