Alright, so the new Royal Winter Star Path dropped, and you know me, I had to dive right in. First thing I did was pull up that list of duties. Always feels like a bit of a mountain to climb when you first look at it, doesn’t it? So many little things to tick off.

Getting Started with the Basics
I decided to tackle the easy ones first. You know, the “pick 50 Snowberries” or “have 3 daily discussions” type of stuff. Those are usually pretty quick, helps build a bit of momentum. I just wandered around the Frosted Heights for a bit, grabbing whatever I saw. The discussion one, well, that just means remembering to chat with folks each day. Not too bad, just gotta keep it in mind.
Then there were the gifting duties. “Give 5 Favorite Gifts” – okay, that meant checking who liked what. Took a little running around, but I got those done pretty fast. It’s always nice to see their little happy reactions anyway.
The More “Involved” Duties
Some of the duties, though, they always make you work for it. This time, it was the “Mine 10 Icy Gems” one. Seemed simple, but those things just didn’t want to drop for me! I swear I spent a good hour just smacking rocks in the Glacier Pass. Persistence is key, I guess. Finally got the last one and I was so relieved.
And oh, the “Craft 3 Royal Winter Furniture” task. That one wasn’t hard because of materials, but because I had to actually decide what to make! I spent more time flipping through recipes than actually gathering the wood and iron. Ended up making a couple of those snowy benches and a lamppost. They look pretty good, actually.
There was also a fishing duty: “Catch 5 Crystal Chars.” These only appear in that one frozen lake, and only when it’s snowing, or at least that’s what it felt like. So I had to wait for the right weather, then hope they’d bite. That took a couple of sessions, let me tell you. Sat there with my fishing rod, just waiting. A bit dull, but part of the process.

Pushing Through and Finishing Up
Once the more annoying tasks were out of the way, the rest started to fall into place. Stuff like “Harvest 20 Winter Root Vegetables” – planted those early on, so they were ready when I needed them. Smart thinking on my part, if I do say so myself.
I also had to:
- Take a photo with a specific character in a winter outfit.
- Clear 20 Night Thorns in the Frosted Heights.
- Cook 3 hearty winter meals.
These weren’t too bad, just a matter of going to the right place or having the ingredients. The photo one was kinda fun, actually. Waited for them to do a nice pose.
The last few duties always feel like a bit of a sprint. You can see the finish line. I think the very last one for me was something like “Spend 500 Star Coins,” which is easy once you’ve claimed all the other duty rewards. Just went on a little shopping spree in the Star Path menu.
And just like that, all duties complete! It’s always a good feeling. Got all the exclusive winter items, and that final big reward. Now my valley is looking extra frosty and festive. It was a bit of a grind in places, not gonna lie, but overall, pretty satisfying to get it all done. Now, what to do until the next one, eh?
