Okay, let me tell you how I finally got my hands on the Super Rod in Black 2. It took a bit, you know, because you can’t just grab it early on.

Getting Started
First things first, I had to actually beat the game. Well, not everything, but I needed to become the Champion. So, I battled my way through the gyms, dealt with Team Plasma, the whole nine yards. Finally took down the Elite Four and the Champion. Felt pretty good, I gotta say.
The Journey Back
After all that excitement, I remembered hearing you could get a better fishing rod somewhere. Someone mentioned going back home. So, I figured, alright, time for a trip back to Nuvema Town. It felt kinda weird going back to the starting town after seeing the whole region, but hey, needed that rod.
So, I flew back, landed in good ol’ Nuvema. Walked into the lab, Professor Juniper’s place. She wasn’t the one with the rod, though.
Meeting the Guy
Turns out, her dad, Cedric Juniper, was the guy I needed to talk to. He hangs out in the lab after you’ve become Champion. Found him there, just chilling. I walked up and started a chat.
He talked for a bit, congratulated me on becoming Champion and filling up the Pokédex (or working on it, at least). Then, he just handed it over! The Super Rod. Just like that. No big fetch quest right then, just needed to have proven myself as the Champ.

Trying It Out
Of course, I had to try it out right away. What’s the point of getting a new toy if you don’t play with it? I went to the nearest water spot I could think of, I think it was Route 1, just outside town.
- Cast the line… waited…
- Got a bite pretty quick!
- Pulled up something cooler than what the Old Rod could get, that’s for sure.
It was way better than the standard rod. Started pulling up different kinds of Pokémon immediately. Was pretty happy with it. Made fishing feel a bit more worthwhile, you know? Finally could hunt for some of those rarer water types.
So yeah, that was basically it. Beat the game, went back home, talked to Juniper’s dad, and got the Super Rod. Simple when you know how, but feels like a nice reward after finishing the main story.
