Okay, so I decided to try and nail down Zhu’s tour schedule recently. Seemed simple enough, right? Just find the dates, make a list.

The Hunt Begins
First thing, I hit the usual spots. Official website, music news sites, ticket sellers. You know the drill. This guy, Steven Zhu, he’s been around since 2014 doing his electronic music thing. You’d figure he’d have a straightforward tour page.
Well, not exactly. Some dates were on one site, a couple more on another. Then you’d see mentions on social media, but maybe without a ticket link yet. It felt scattered. Like finding pieces of a puzzle scattered across different rooms.
Getting Messy
It quickly turned into a bit of a mess. Keeping track was harder than I thought. You’d find a date, add it to my list, then later see conflicting info somewhere else. Was it confirmed? Postponed? Just a rumor?
- Check official site – sometimes updated, sometimes not.
- Scour ticket platforms – often the most reliable, but you have to check several.
- Look through fan forums/social media – lots of noise, occasional useful info.
It’s not like some bands where they drop a whole tour list neatly packaged. It felt more like announcements trickled out, piece by piece. And you hear his shows can run anywhere from 1 hour to maybe 3 hours, depending on what he decides to play. Makes it tough if you’re trying to plan your night precisely.
My “Schedule” Now
So what did I end up with? Basically, a constantly edited note on my computer. It’s not pretty. I add stuff when I see it, try to verify, but honestly, it’s a best guess half the time. It’s like the information is managed by different teams who don’t talk to each other. One posts here, another posts there.

Maybe that’s just how it is with some artists, especially in the electronic scene? A bit more fluid, less structured. Or maybe it’s just unnecessarily complicated. All I wanted was a simple list.
Ended up spending way more time chasing down dates than actually listening to the music that day. It’s a bit frustrating, really. You just want to know where the guy is playing, but it feels like you need to be a detective to figure it out. That’s my experience trying to track the Zhu tour schedule, anyway. A bit of a wild goose chase.
